IDIL offers sophisticated sensors systems using Brillouin scattering in optical fibers to measure changes in both temperature and strain along the length of an optical fiber.
With high spatial, strain, temperature resolution and accuracy, it is possible, for example, to detect when a structure is being strained, cooled or heated and correct the problem before a failure occurs.
IDIL complete interrogation solution (interrogator, software interface and sensors) allows an easy to use and implement industrial sensing solution. Furthermore, all our sensors are customized to your specifications and final application.

Due to its strong dependence to environmental variables (strain and temperature), Brillouin scattering is successfully employed in distributed fiber sensors systems.
Compared to Fiber Bragg Grating sensors (localized sensors), Brillouin sensors are used to detect problems not know prior to sensor installation.
